Using personas in learning design
30/05/2018 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm GMT
Do you use personas when you design your courses?
Design thinking is not a strict linear methodology that you can take ‘off the shelf’ and apply. There are many variables which will impact your approach including, the sector, the customer’s needs and expectations, the end user’s needs and expectations, the relationship with the customer or business segment, the all important metrics (ie: customer service or technical speed) and the objectives. Even then we are only naming only a few.
Design thinking focusses on the person and the experience not the process done well and applied as per the planning all objectives are met.
In this event we will focus on the empathy stage…the discovery stage.
Rather than having a panel session, we will invite members to share their experiences of using personas in their learning design.
The challenge activity … we will work in groups to bring personas to life! We will use templates and guides to assist us. We will share our discussion and suggestions of how this impacts on learning design.
5:30 – 6:00 – Registration, networking, informal conversation and informal activity
6:00 – 6:45 – Guided discussion on our experiences of using personas and how this impacted on the design of the learning
6:45 – 7:30 – Challenge activity – analyse personas and how they support the development of great learning experience design
